Thank you for activating The Twelfth Fleet’s historical archive. Also known as Cademus Fleet, the Twelfth Fleet was cut away from the 10th fleet to provide better Federation presence to worlds in and around Cardassian and Ferengi space, and to provide an overwatch for Free Haven and the potentially questionable activities that are based out of that system. Please read on for more information on the fleet.
In 2401, the events that occurred during the Frontier Day celebration shook the Federation to its core. Long time allies and friends of the Federation were shaken in their faith after the majority of the Federation Fleet was almost lost to the Changeling’s plot with the Borg Queen. Already stressed relationships were pushed to the breaking point as fear an uncertainty grip the Federation and its allies.
In the midst of all of this, the Federation has reorganized it’s fleet structure and pushed into areas that have been largely left untouched in recent years. The largest and most significant fleet alteration has been the creation of the 12th Fleet, operating between Cardassian and Ferengi space, near Free Haven. The 12th Fleet, otherwise known as Cademus Fleet, is tasked with bringing order and stability to that sector and keeping tabs on the rumors of heavy criminal activity out of Free Haven.
Under Command of Fleet Admiral Keith Anderson and Admiral Gabriel Buchanan, Cademus Fleet is a beacon in the night, trying its best to re-establish the repuation of Starfleet and keep the regions under its watchful eye safe.
The Romulan Free State has taken a strong stand in favor of the Federation after the events of Frontier Day. They are in talks with the Federation to permanently dissolve the Romulan Neutral Zone and open free trade with the Federation and its allies.
The Vulcans are largely divided after Frontier Day, some of them feeling that Federation failed to take the necessary precautions to defend against the Borg and Changeling threat, and the other half feeling that the Federation had no way to defend against this attack and did an admirable job countering it. While the Vulcans aren’t at risk of leaving the Federation by any stretch, relationships are certainly significantly strained.
