At its core, Cademus Fleet is a Star Trek fan club that spans a variety of activities and events. This group has grown on the legacy of countless fan fiction groups that have kept the love of the Trek Universe alive over the years. As such, Cademus has a strong focus on writing, in addition to our other activities. Our goal is to create an environment where writers can be a part of a cohesive storyline in a carefully managed world or be free to tell stories that are uniquely their own in the Star Trek universe, well outside of canon.

To allow for this dichotomy of worlds, Cademus Fleet is broken up into two distinct sections:

Cademus Fleet Universe is our open storytelling division. These fictions and collaborative stories are not bound by the canon guidelines of our fleet other than they must be Star Trek. CFU is built to allow our writers to run stories that don't necessarily abide within the construct of the fleet.

Each of these stories will take place in a unique universe of it’s own, separate from the other ships in the group. They can be anything from revisiting history to the far future to a completely different take on the universe entirely.

Once a year, Cademus Fleet will run a Convergence event that will allow all the ships in the Cademus Fleet Universe division to come together for a group story by way of a temporal anomaly or some other special event. This event will be the equivalent of a Fleet Event for the prime fleet. Participation in this event is optional.

There is only one hard and fast rule in the CFU: There will be no cross-over stories. We are purely a Star Trek group, so in order to keep the fleet’s theme cohesive, we will not allow cross overs with other universes (Star Wars, Doctor Who, Alien, etc).

All CFU stories are subject to Fleet Staff approval.

Cademus Fleet Prime is the main section of our writing wing and will adhere closely to our fleet canon. This is the division where the majority of our Fleet Events will take place, and will require writers to adhere more strictly to Fleet and Trek canon.

With a vessel (or vessels) in the Cademus Fleet Prime division, your story has a chance to be forever immortalized in Cademus Fleet canon and become a part of the living history of the fleet. Once you get out of the Cadet ranks, you’re able to write more than one ship story, and are more than welcome to have a ship (or multiple ships) in each Division should you desire it.
